Job Description
Responsibilities
Assures the integrity of financial and statistical data, via preparation or review of general ledger entries, reports, schedules, worksheets, reconciliations or other analysis. Develops, monitors and actions fraud risk. Management of miscellaneous projects across SCM, including SCM LEAN projects, fraud risk scoring activities, segregation of duties projects and money recovery efforts.
Works in a team environment providing support to analysts and leadership. Actively communicates and presents information to various audiences. Uses reporting tools to develop complex management financial and SCM information. Identifies weaknesses, issues or risks and improving Mayo Clinic internal controls by use of developing new automation & technology tools, including advanced knowledge of Audit Command Language (ACL)
Audit and compliance of employee & departmental financial and personal behaviors throughout Mayo Clinic, in order to assess and manage risk including but not limited to activities associated with Procurement Cards, Travel Cards, automated financial transactions and compliance of SCM policies. May include behavior correction upon discovery of violation.
Maintains a highly integrated partnership with Internal Control Evaluation (ICE) and Internal Audit Services (IAS) in collaboration of projects and control improvements for Supply Chain.
Coordination with the Mayo Health Systems’ SCM integration, including assessment of current processes/procedures, performing a risk analysis of the current operations and providing recommendations for improved controls.
May develop expertise and/or become primary owner of a technical process. Interprets and applies Mayo and governmental finance and accounting policies and procedures. Proactively identifies and communicates problems and opportunities; seeks input and participates in implementing solutions or process improvements. Assists in the development of automated audit tools with variable-sensitive business models and/or compliance or fiscal management tools. Provides analytical, financial, accounting, and compliance support to department and institutional leadership. Mentors, coaches, and trains staff.
The specialist position is within the Supply Chain Solutions developed by Mayo Clinic (SCS) as a member of our Tech team. SCS was developed by Mayo Clinic and the 14 team members are all Mayo Clinic employees. The SCS program is a freight solution for other external healthcare organizations thus we have minimal contact with other Mayo Clinic employees. All team members are recognized as subject matter experts, working closely with SCS clients to implement key freight savings solutions within their organizations. We actively identify business problems and recommend solutions for our clients. Applicants should possess an understanding of how data is turned into actionable information and how that knowledge supports and enables key business processes and decisions. This job duties for this role includes (but is not limited to) responsibilities around maintenance of a variety of components of our supplier conversion data including logging supplier responses, responding to supplier inquiries, researching supplier information to find contact information and call suppliers when initial attempts at conversion fail.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of three years’ applicable experience in Internal Audit, accounting or finance is required. Other business related bachelor’s degrees require a minimum of five years of applicable accounting or finance experience. Master’s degree in accounting, audit, statistics or finance preferred. An MBA, MHA, CPA, CMA, CFE or CIA can be substituted for one year experience. Has a highly developed understanding of accounting, risk management and finance practices. Has a highly developed knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. Highly developed investigational skills, shows attention to detail, accuracy and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Solid customer-service skills; understands and addresses customer needs in a timely manner. Prefer knowledge of large accounting and/or grant management systems. Ability to work in a team environment and develop constructive working relationships with others. Demonstrable communication and basic presentation skills. Strong ability to work independently. Must have the ability to critical consider facts of a case and come to a conclusion while doing so with little or no supervisor direction.
Additional Qualifications:
Advanced investigational skills, ability to make a decision independently, attention to detail, accuracy and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
Demonstrated experience in all aspects of SCM
Demonstrated understanding of basic freight management methodologies and best practices
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience in Tableau or Alteryx is a plus
Solid customer-service skills; anticipates, understands and addresses customer needs in a timely manner.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and develop constructive working relationships with others.
Understanding of basic cost allocation methods and General Ledger structures
Demonstrated communication and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and lead projects and activities.
Possess initiative, analytical skills, and an ability to operate with a high level of productivity.
