Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Compliance Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with various departments within our organization to ensure compliance with federal and state enactments. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of legal matters, including benefits and privacy, presentations, regulatory law, corporate law, compliance law, and ethics. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the legal industry and a strong commitment to ensuring our company operates within the boundaries of the law.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or address violations of legal guidelines and internal policies.
- Continuously evaluate the efficiency of controls and make improvements as needed.
- Periodically revise procedures, reports, and more to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues.
- Draft, modify, and implement company policies.
- Collaborate with corporate counsels and HR departments to monitor the enforcement of standards and regulations.
- Assess potential compliance risks associated with the company’s future ventures.
- Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training.
- Stay updated on regulatory developments and evolving best practices in compliance control.
- Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as required.
- Conduct presentations on compliance issues, ethics, and federal and state enactments to inform and educate staff and management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Compliance Attorney with a minimum of 5+ years in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations is essential.
- Strong understanding of benefits, privacy, compliance, federal enactments, state enactments, regulatory law, corporate law, compliance law, and ethics.
- Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record-keeping.
- Business acumen paired with a dedication to legality.
- Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities.
- Analytical mindset capable of navigating the complexities of procedures and regulations.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Compliance Attorney or in a similar role, with a focus on benefits, privacy, compliance, federal enactments,
state enactments, presentations, regulatory law, corporate law, compliance law, and ethics.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures.
- Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment on a corporation.
