Responsibilities

The Division Chair has responsibility for the strategic direction and fundraising success of the Corporate and Foundation Relations program (CFR). The Division Chair will plan, implement, and direct a comprehensive program to identify, cultivate, and solicit support from corporations, affiliated corporate foundations, and public and private foundations aligned with institutional priorities. The Division  Chair will maintain collaborative partnerships within the Department of Development, as well as key partners within the institution, including Research Administration, Office of Sponsored Projects Administration, the Executive Health Program, Supply Chain and others, to leverage key institutional relationships at Mayo Clinic for the purpose of securing philanthropic support and grants. The Division Chair for Corporate and Foundation Relations will serve as a member of the Department’s Management Team. The Division Chair supervises a team of CFR officers and other team members. In addition, this position will actively maintain a portfolio of prospects, and successfully cultivate and solicit $1,000,000+ gifts and/or grants. 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 10 years of fundraising experience with at least 5 years of management experience OR a Master’s degree plus 8 years of fundraising experience with at least 5 years of management experience. 

Must have exceptional organization skills and demonstrated ability to accomplish both broad, visionary assignments as well as complex, detailed projects. The Division Chair will be decisive and have strong conceptual, creative, problem-solving and team building skills. A willingness to travel is essential. Strong preference for candidates with deep experience working with private foundations. Track record of directly soliciting and closing 8-figure corporate gifts and grants is a plus.
