Job Description

The HR Business Partner is a key member of our People Team at Galileo Learning. As an HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for supporting all HR functions for an assigned territory and/or employee group. Your main goal will be to ensure that all human resources operations run smoothly and effectively, while also fostering a positive and engaging work environment for our employees.

YOU WILL

  • Provide support and guidance to managers and staff in all areas of human resources, including but not limited to onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, and compliance.
  • Serving as a liaison between employees and our People team to ensure that employee concerns are addressed in a timely and effective manner
  • Conduct training sessions on HR policies and procedures, as well as compliance-related topics
  • Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, and partnering cross-functionally to develop solutions
  • Assist with the onboarding process for new hires, including conducting new employee orientations, preparing and processing new hire paperwork, and coordinating with other departments to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Manage employee relations issues, including conducting investigations, providing guidance and support to managers, and taking appropriate corrective action when necessary.
  • Collaborate with other members of the People team to develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and practices that align with Galileo Learning’s culture and values.
  • Assist with compensation and benefits administration, including overseeing payroll, analyzing data, and making recommendations to accurate and compliant compensation practices
  • Participate in a variety projects and initiatives as needed, which may include supporting event logistics for semi-annual HQ summits, leading employee experience initiatives, and championing a joyful work environment

COMPENSATION

We anticipate the compensation for this Full-Time, exempt, position to be $70,000 – $80,000 annual salary. Exact compensation may vary and will be based on multiple factors, including geography and professional experience.

WORK LOCATION

Employees located in the San Francisco Bay area adhere to a hybrid office and work-from-home policy. Galileo Headquarters, 111 Myrtle St, Ste 300, Oakland, CA 94607. Remote, work-from-home, location is possible in the following states: California, Colorado, Illinois, and Washington.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 30 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required
  • 3+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or other functional HR professional
  • A deep understanding of HR best practices and be able to apply them
  • Experience coaching leaders through tough conversations and HR best practices
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus!
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Having worked in summer camps, education, or similar organizations is a plus!
