We are currently seeking a passionate, detail-oriented, and highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role will provide you with the opportunity to apply your accounting expertise in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment. You will play a pivotal role in our financial operations, working closely with various teams to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial data. This position is perfect for a seasoned professional with a strong background in public and/or private accounting within the energy sector or a related industry.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for:
1. Overseeing the month and quarter close process, ensuring all financial data is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
2. Preparing and posting complex journal entries while maintaining and reconciling ledger accounts.
3. Conducting detailed account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
4. Performing variance analysis to understand the cause of any discrepancies and propose appropriate solutions.
5. Ensuring compliance with GAAP, US GAAP, and SEC regulations.
6. Utilizing advanced Excel skills to manage large data sets, create financial models, and generate reports.
7. Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
8. Participating in internal and external audits, providing necessary information and answering auditors’ inquiries.
9. Working on special projects as assigned, providing financial expertise and insights.
Qualification:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA certification is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in public and/or private accounting within the energy industry or a related field.
3. Experience in downstream operations is a plus.
4. Proven experience with month and quarter close, journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
5. In-depth knowledge of GAAP, US GAAP, and SEC regulations.
6. Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other data manipulation functions.
7. Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
8. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
9. Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
10. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
