Senior UI Engineer (Open to Remote) Job Description
As a Senior UI Engineer at Daxko, you will focus on working in front-end web development. You will think from a user’s perspective in order to create effective, polished website designs that users can easily access and use. As a senior member of the team, you will focus on the continued growth of the team and team members.
You will also:
- Develop high-quality applications that provide a delightful user experience
- Develop clean, reusable, well-structured, and maintainable code following best practices and industry standards
- Develop elegant, responsive, high-performance, cross-platform solutions
- Develop, debug, and modify components of software applications and tools
- Write automated unit, integration, and acceptance tests as appropriate to support our continuous integration pipelines
- Support and troubleshoot data and/or system issues as needed
- Responsible for providing actionable feedback in code reviews
- Capable of leading design reviews
- Participate in user story creation in collaboration with the team
- Guide team members in the development of prototypes as necessary and validate ideas with a data-driven approach.
- Mentor team members in all aspects of the software development process
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Applied Sciences.
- Five (5+) years of Software Engineering or other relevant experience
- Proficient in building mobile-first, responsive websites
- Proficient using code versioning tools such as Git
- Proficient with CSS preprocessors
- Node.js, NPM, or yarn experience
- Experience with Agile development methodology
- Experience with building and integrating with RESTful APIs
- Experience developing native iOS (Swift, Obj-C) and Android (Java)
- Experience writing unit, automated and integration tests
- Understanding of modern cloud architecture and tools
- Passion towards Front End Development
- Mastery of browser features/limitations
- Mastery of HTML, CSS, and Javascript
- Strong fundamental understanding of modern Javascript framework
- Ability to mentor and help develop team members
A nice plus if you also have:
- Experience with AWS Services (EC2, S3, ELB, Cloud Front, Cloudwatch, Lambda, Kinesis)
- Design and Development Methodologies (e.g. DDD, TDD, and BDD)
