UX Engineering Intern Job Description

UX Engineers at ATPCO are the synthesis of design and development. Accelerating our build-measure-learn process, they partner with UX designers, product managers, and full-stack engineers to build customer-centered interfaces that form the platform for industry innovation in airline retailing.

UX Engineers at ATPCO must combine creativity, analytical skills, and expert knowledge of front-end technologies to develop prototypes that unlock great product experiences. They will contribute to the ATPCO design system that empowers designers and engineers across verticals. They will develop tools and processes to accelerate the design team, synchronize design and engineering, and enable high quality product development.

You Will:

  • Deliver innovative, engaging prototypes using the latest in front-end technologies
  • Drive the front-end development on key applications, partnering closely with full-stack and backend engineering teams
  • Design and build components for ATPCO’s in-house design system and foster growth with our community of internal design system users
  • Advocate for end users and customer outcomes through all stages of the software development process
  • Advise, collaborate with, and synthesize feedback from designers and UX researchers
  • Articulate feasibility impact with non-technical team members
  • Write documentation for both teammates and design system users
  • Write automated unit, E2E, and visual regression tests
  • Stay on top of tech trends and experiment with new technologies that may improve our UX engineering practice

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in front-end engineering
  • Experience with JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, CSS
  • Experience with one or more modern JavaScript framework (e.g., Angular, React, Svelte, Solid, Vue)
  • Understanding of human-computer interaction design
  • Experience with contemporary design system principles, techniques, and tools
  • Experience developing applications on a public cloud
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues
